Industrial CVD COATINGS

COLD GOLD CG1- TiN/TiCN/TiC/TiN Multi-layer CVD Coating – Gold
Multilayer coating deposited by CVD. Possess the best combination of hardness and toughness deposited onto carbide turning and milling inserts as well as stamping and forming tools, extrusion tooling and other metal forming tools. Helps eliminate galling and pick up and has exceptionally strong bonding to the sub-straight.

COLD GOLD CG2 - TiC – Gray/Black
Hardest coating for extreme wear resistance. Very good for severe wear and abrasion resistance.

COLD GOLD CG3- TiN/TiCN/TiC/AI2O3 Multi-layer CVD Coating – Black
Multilayer coating deposited by CVD. Deposited onto carbide turning or milling inserts as well as some forming tools, extrusion tooling and other metal forming tools. Aluminum oxide layer has high oxidation resistance, hence acts as a chemical and thermal barrier between the tool and work piece.

COLD GOLD CG4- Aluminum Oxide/TiN – Gold
Multilayer coating for interrupted cutting of abrasive materials and areas where added lubricity is needed.

COLD GOLD CG5- “Custom” Coatings Single or Multi-layer CVD Coating
The combination of any of the standard coatings, as well as a wide range of other coating compositions to meet your specific manufacturing need is available per customer request. Call to discuss your application.

STANDARD PVD COATINGS

COLD GOLD CG6 – PVD –TiN – Gold
Used for machining low and medium carbon steels, high strength steels, non-ferrous material and plastics. Allows for increasing speeds and feeds. Provides wear and corrosion protection to plastic molds and close toleranced stamping tools. Applications include wear parts.

COLD GOLD CG7 – PVD – CrC – Silver
Proprietary multi-layer coating offers increased fatigue strength, hence resistance to cracking and chipping. Developed for machining aluminum and titanium alloys. Applications include protection of aluminum and zinc die-castings molds, draw tooling and may be used as a replacement for chromium plating.

COLD GOLD CG8 – PVD – TiCN – Bronze/Gray
Recommended for tough machining high carbon steels. Also suggested for machining tool steels and other difficult to machine materials. Used for machining high silicon content aluminum alloys. Suggested that speeds and feeds be increased to show true improvement in productivity. Provides protection to stamping tools used for forming abrasive materials.

COLD GOLD CG9 – PVD – TiAIN – Violet/Black
Coating is used for protecting tools used for dry machining. Applications include machining hard to machine materials like cast irons and high-nickel base alloys. Excellent for high speed, dry machining of tool steels.

COLD GOLD CG10 – PVD – DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) – Black/Iridescent
Coating is used for machining graphite, composites, aluminum and non-ferrous materials. Any carbide, high-speed steel or tool steels are coatable. Also excellent for plastic molding to avoid abrasion and corrosion. Hardest coating and lowest coefficient of friction available.

COLD GOLD CG11 “Custom” Coatings Single or Multi-layer PVD Coating
